Buff Da God was born and raised in Dorchester, MA. "I am Haitian American so my roots also stem back to my home island," he added. Buff started his career officially around when he was 15 or 16 years old. He mentioned that he took a break while in college but once he graduated he got back to the midst of things around 2014, when he was about 21 years old.
"I've always been in love with music since a young age. The performing, the lifestyle and lights are all normal things to catch my attention at the time," he continued, "but as I grew older, I started learning the importance of such things like music, having a voice and spreading energy to other." With this being said and looking at the bigger picture of it all, he can see how he was made for this career.
Buff's favorite piece he has created so far is "DEBT II SOCIETY," his debut mixtape. He added that it was hard to pick just one since they all are like his babies; he wrote this tape when he was in a really dark place. There was at time when he had no resources, and that people didn't know or either forgot he raps. "Being depressed and coming into life and finally realizing what's its about I had a lot it share and express. I took my time and carefully curated that classic," he expressed, "and because of that I'm forever grateful that I got it done and grateful for those who helped me (producers, G weekes & Anmweeey). As well as those who supported me and the project every step of the way."
Besides performing and meeting other talented artist along the way, Buff's favorite thing about being a music artist is the creating process. He said that there is nothing like hearing a fire beat and knowing that you got the style, flow, story or swag to do it justice. "Or even the idea of making a final product from just instruments. The creative process is like a challenge against yourself which requires you to be deep inside and find exactly what it is that's need to come to light," he added.
Buff Da God's message to his supporters/audience:
"I want my audience to know Rome wasn't built over night and Walgreens or CVS didn't go national the same day they decided to open their first store front. Don't be so wrapped up in the social media and celebrity talk that you can't see or appreciate something that's happening in real life/time in front of your eyes. Me , Suav and Thankful Records ( along with a lot of other people I could mention) we coming. It's only a matter of time. People think this happen by ones self but it doesn't. Especially music. Only the real shit will last and stick. All the other clout chasing stuff will fade with time. As for Boston, it's our time now. It may happen for a couple people here and there but if we're looking to become apart of the industry much like the other cities and states; Atlanta, New York, Cali, we have to come together to create out identity and demand it."
