Our mission is to provide food, water + care packages to the community. Our fridge is to ensure healthy and equal access to vegetables, fruit, drinks and other foods people decide to donate. We will treat our fridge(s) like it’s our own in our homes, and go the extra mile to make sure they are tidy and welcoming. This project is a temporary solution to hunger and food waste.

According to Feeding America, “Due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, more than 50 million people may experience food insecurity, including a potential 17 million children.” One of them could be your neighbor and you’d never know! When we are talking about our fridge, please do not use the words, “needy,” or “homeless.” Please do not assume that because someone has a home, they are food secured. The fridge is here for all people regardless of needing food, housing or class. We are equals and here to help one another no matter what. Access to food and personal care is a basic human right, not a privilege.

Not only LOPH is a brand, but a community as well. Our intentions are to come

together + help our people through mutual aid; powered + inspired by generosity, peace + love.

We encourage people to give back to their communities, everyone deserves access to food and water. Experience with hunger could happen to anyone; we need to be reminded that this is mutual aid, not charity. Food is the connector of all people, no matter who you are or where you are from. There is no place for judgement + policing anyone’s relationship with the fridge, it’s about respect and helping one another. We stand in solidarity + respect. We work together as a community to provide resources to help one another.

We have a facebook group where people are able to join and keep up with updates and information about our fridge.

Purchase a hoodie, sweatpants, or a mask from our store on loveoverpowershate.com, 25% of the profits will be donated towards

our fund unless we donate to another organization for that collection.
